An outdoor kitchen is a small building. It has a footing, a structure, services and a finish, and the order of those matters — every rough-in has to be in and signed off before the veneer goes on, because nothing comes back apart cheaply.
We build cores in structural block or steel frame on a poured footing below frost. Cantilevered kits set on a patio move with the patio; a footing means the counter stays level with the house rather than with the paving.
Bring us the appliance spec sheets early. Cut-outs, clearances to combustibles and the depth of an under-counter fridge all drive the layout, and changing a grill model after the core is up is the single most common cause of a change order on this kind of work.
